Face materials for fairway woods are generally 17-4 or 15-5
stainless steel.  To achieve maximum C.O.R., Ashton Golf
adopted the technology behind our X-1 Driver and engineered
proprietary steel that would allow us to forge the face of
our fairway woods as thin as possible without sacrificing
structural integrity.  The Ashton Golf X-1 faceplate is
actually forged thinner around the perimeter and thicker in
the center to promote higher C.O.R. and thus greater initial
ball velocity.
